The services generally comprised of programmed and minor specific road maintenance of unsealed roads, gravel road services (grading, resheeting and dust supressing programs), programmed and minor maintenance of table drains and associated drainage assets on unsealed roads, maintenance of road surfaces and nominated assets on bridge and major culverts and maintenance of roadside furniture throughout the municipality, including guideposts, guide signs and delineators, and signage of a regulatory, warning and advisory nature.
A significant achievement resulting from this contract has been MACA’s successful retention of local expertise by seamlessly onboarding the majority of contract employees from the previous service provider. By preserving the invaluable knowledge and skills possessed by these employees, MACA not only acquired dedicated and diligent workers but also tapped into a wealth of insights about the local road network.
MACA’s commitment to sustainable practices within the Contract has garnered considerable support from the local community. Initiatives such as an enhanced, environmentally friendly dust suppression program, an optimised programmed maintenance schedule, and swifter response to customer requests have showcased MACA’s dedication to both efficiency and environmental responsibility. These efforts have not gone unnoticed, as the Shire continuously receives commendations from local residents, who express appreciation for MACA’s performance and our employees hard work.
