MACA is excited to partner with Constructionarium Australia, bringing the first Victorian cohort for 2023 to the Victorian Big Build Bridge program.
With the support of Major Road Projects Victoria, program commenced yesterday (Wednesday, 1 February) at Constructionarium’s Hallam site, culminating with a bridge opening ceremony on Friday, 10 February.
Constructionarium Australia is a program aimed at developing emerging industry professionals through a collaborative approach. Designed to replicate a major infrastructure project, the program will provide graduates with valuable industry experience as they gain exposure to the roles, critical tasks, challenges and opportunities associated with the delivery of major works.
The program involves eight days of theory, practical training, personal development and networking, with the cohort of 20 challenged to tender, plan, procure and deliver a scale bridge structure to time and budget.
General Manager Civil & Infrastructure (South), Mark O’Reilly, said the program is a fantastic example of how cross-industry collaboration provides long-term support to the people who drive the construction and infrastructure sector in Victoria.
“The program will give unique perspectives to every participant as they work collaboratively to deliver their structure to their budget and schedule in conditions as close to the real world as possible.
“Our entire team is excited to be part of the build. From project managers, site supervisors and our safety team who will be on-site supporting, advising and mentoring participants to our team members who will be part of the cohort, there is a sense of excitement across MACA as we align with a program that links directly to our core values and mirrors our approach to being part of a collaborative industry where people come first,” said Mark.
