As part of the South West Gateway Alliance, MACA have recently been involved with the first graduation of work ready trainees from the Yaka Dandjoo Ready to Work program of the Bunbury Outer Ring Road Project.
The Yaka Dandjoo program has been designed to provide lasting employment opportunities to unemployed jobseekers. The program provides participants with the necessary support, knowledge and skill development to assist in their transition to being ‘construction industry’ work ready.
The program has been developed to achieve two primary objectives; create a pipeline of skilled people to support ongoing infrastructure delivery and boost sustainable employment opportunities.
General Manager – Civil & Infrastructure, Mark Davidovic, attended the Graduation Ceremony on behalf of the South West Gateway Alliance Board and presented the trainees with their certificates with Main Roads WA Program sponsor, Ashley Vincent.
Coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, the 13 graduates have now received permanent employment offers from local employers and are looking forward to a bright future ahead.
